Get from raw file to controlled redacted output

Follow this workflow to turn a raw document into a controlled, redacted output.

1

Open the DeletePII workspace

Start in the main workspace and upload one or many files, or paste text directly for fast testing. Supported workflows include text review, AI-assisted candidate generation, OCR preview, and page-aware rendering.
2

Choose or apply a saved policy

Use saved policies to standardize presets, default actions, custom regex rules, dictionary terms, and analyst notes. Organization-shared policies should be used for team consistency.
3

Run detection and AI review

Run deterministic detection first, then AI review to surface additional contextual candidates. For scanned PDFs and images, use OCR preview to inspect page-level matches before final rendering.
No AI mode available: AI Review is optional and off by default. For compliance-sensitive workflows — including HIPAA, legal, and financial documents — you can run the full redaction workflow using only deterministic detection and human review, without sending any content to external AI providers.
4

Review findings and render behavior

Adjust actions per finding and, for supported rendered artifacts, set whether a match should be burned in, outlined for review, or ignored.
5

Produce the final output

Download locally, save to Vault, or send a secure-link email. Use the audit run page to verify OCR metadata, export metadata, and artifact linkage.
6

Review audit records and trust documentation

After completing a redaction run, open the audit record to verify source hash, output hash, OCR metadata, and export destination. Share the Security, Compliance, Subprocessors, DPA, and HIPAA-Ready pages with stakeholders to confirm workflow fit and deployment posture.

Recommended workflow

  1. Upload a scanned PDF or image with visible sensitive text.
  2. Run Detect, then AI Review.
  3. Open OCR boxes and confirm page-aware matches.
  4. Normalize findings.
  5. Render the real artifact.
  6. Save it to Vault.
  7. Open the audit run and preview the artifact.
  8. Email a secure link to prove delivery flow.
